From one donkey cart to a circular-economy enterprise
In 2010 E.C., founder Henok Dongato — then working as a hotel guard — began collecting waste with a single donkey cart. Today that determination has grown into a 91-employee enterprise with a truck fleet, industrial recycling machinery, and a network of 18 small-enterprise partners.
Learn Our StoryWhat we do
Three integrated operations turn urban waste streams into economic and agricultural value.
Municipal Waste Logistics
Reliable city-wide collection — 88 m³ of municipal solid waste managed daily with a dedicated fleet on a six-day schedule.
Learn moreOrganic Composting
Windrow and vermicompost systems convert organic waste into premium soil for municipal landscaping and Sidama coffee farms.
Learn moreIndustrial PET Recycling
Over 3,000 kg of PET collected daily, processed and supplied to manufacturing complexes in Sebeta, Addis Ababa, and Dukem.
Learn moreEvery kilogram is a step toward decarbonization
Recycling PET and composting organic waste cut greenhouse-gas emissions that landfilling would otherwise release. By diverting waste every single day, Hawassa Wubet helps Ethiopia move toward a low-carbon, zero-waste future.
